Weekly Photo Challenge: Solitary

“solitary (adj) – state of being alone; without companions; unattended; living alone; avoiding the society of others by itself; characterized by the absence of companions without help or accompaniment”

this photo was taken during a recent ‘solitary’ travel in tokyo. i was bound mt. fuji, hoping to have a glimpse of the beautiful mountain. unfortunately, i did not see anything due to the bad weather. while waiting for the trains to arrive, i enter this dark waiting room to see an old woman sitting at the corner and must be waiting for the train as well. of course, i was fascinated to see someone in flesh wearing a kimono. i guess most of the elderly still wear the traditional attire after all.

i was just sitting there with her waiting for the train to arrive. because that’s all we can do, to sit back and relax. just like in life, waiting patiently for things to come. because as they say, “the hardest tests in life is the patience to wait for the right moment”.
