One hot afternoon lunch while crossing the street from my office to Lau Pa Sat, I saw the run advertisement for Live Earth: Run for Water marathon. I immediately thought of registering for one reason – curiosity. I signed up for the sake of trying it. Fitness reasons did not cross my mind at all. *haha* I am not a runner to begin with and I’m the type of person who’d rather stay at home and lazily do some other stuff like eat, surf the net, etc.
There came April 18, Sunday. When the race just about to start, I feel like laughing to myself and I was thinking, “What did I get myself into?” For a first timer, I feel nervous and my hands are getting cold and sweaty. There’s no turning back. 🙂
Happily and triumphantly, I was able to finish the 6k run (or mostly walking?!) in…55 minutes *hahaha*. For a first timer like me, who did not have any preparations of sort before this event, finishing a race is a feat! I even ate lots of liempo the night before the race. Just the thought of finishing it is a MAJOR accomplishment. 🙂
