Travel: Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

10.10.10 seem to be an auspicious date for most people. I believe so too. 🙂

Darwin and I spent the day at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, a nature park located at Kranji, North Western part of Singapore. From there, you can almost see Malaysia at the opposite side. This is one of our dates that I enjoy because aside from having a closer feel of the nature again, we didn’t spend much hehehe.

We just paid $SGD1 each for the entrance fee and that’s it. I’m staying for almost 8 months here in Singapore and it’s such an eyesore seeing HDB’s and buildings almost everywhere – everyday. This is one of the times I miss the nature and beauty of the Philippines. (^_^)

Admission Rates

From our house, we rode a bus going to Yishun. And from there, we rode the MRT until we reach Kranji station. We waited for bus 925 which will bring us to the nature park. It was very far from our place and I almost feel that I’m not in Singapore anymore.

MRT and Bus Rides

When we arrived the place, we paid for the entrance fees, grabbed a map and start our own tour. No need for tour guides, we did everything on our own pace. There are nature trails, mangrove spots and ponds for different kinds of creatures such as migratory birds, fishes, insects and other flora. Towers and observation decks are scattered all across the area if you wish to observe and take pictures of the wildlife. I love the nature fun date. And the monitor lizards aka bayawaks almost scared me!

I appreciate Darwin bringing me to this place, because it’s a one of a kind experience. This is a lucky day indeed. Looking forward to more nature trips again soon. =)
