This year’s birthday was the second time I spent it far away from home. As most of my friends and family are in the PH, I only get to spend the day at home, taking some rest from the previous day event. Plus, I was a bit sick too. My lack of rest and sleep probably aggravated my coughs and colds. So here I am now, in the confines of my room, under house ar-rest.:)
I don’t have much of a celebration really. Just a simple get together with few friends, family (through Skype – thanks to the technology) and with the boyfriend.
Few days ago, my colleagues and I had a simple dinner at Piedra Negra, located at Haji Lane near Arab Street in Bugis. You can easily spot the place from the outside (daytime perhaps) due to its brightly painted murals. I saw this place once when I was on a “me time” walking tour and the colorful walls caught my attention. The interior is also as colorful as the outside, with some paintings decorating the walls. The burritos, tacos and some chika on the sides satisfied the night. 🙂
On the day itself, the boyfriend went to the house to cook some meals for us (as he promised). I’m very excited because in our many years of being together, 2 beses lang ako nakatikim ng niluto niya (kaldereta and chillified pritong hotdog)! He prepared and cooked Pininyahang Manok and Pinoy Style Spaghetti. We just reuse the penne pasta prize from Shape Run as substitute for spaghetti. Eh di ba dapat spaghetti, para long life? Eh pano naman yung penne maikli lang! Haha! At nakahawak pa yan sa cellphone/kodigo niya in between. 1000000 pogi points for the effort!❤
After dinner, I talked to my family through Facebook Skype video call. There’s another party going on in there. At ako na lang talaga ang kulang sa dami ng handa! Nakaka touch lang.*singhot singhot* (Mukhang lobatt na ako sa webcam) As of this writing, natatakam ako sa birthday cake!!!
Simple lang, pero masaya. 🙂
