I was in the middle of work doing my lazy Facebook routine when I saw this ad/contest from AirPhil Express.
Very exciting isn’t it?! Where else can you get free round trip tickets at this time and age? There’s the continuous price increase in basic commodities and not to mention the woes of global economy. Every single cent we earn is very important and anything that’s free is HEAVEN SENT! I didn’t have any second thoughts of joining this contest because as all of you may know, I’m a sucker for cheap thrills and not to mention also…F-R-E-E-B-I-E-S! 🙂 I’ll give this a shot after all, I’m no newbie when it comes to joining online Facebook contests (Yup! I (we) won the first time we joined…woohoo! ;)) Mechanics is very easy — just use your blog, answer which festivity you like to win the tickets and that’s it. No frills! 🙂
There are 3 festivals to choose from: Maskara Festival in Bacolod, Lanzones Festival in Camiguin and Hermosa Festival in Zamboanga
I chose Hermosa Festival in Zamboanga for the following reasons:
- I’ve never explored much of Mindanao. The only place in Mindanao that I was able to visit was Cagayan de Oro/Camiguin which was a couple of years ago. Having been explored some of the Visayan provinces and been to Mindanao only once, I’ve decided to choose Zamboanga for a change.
- Zamboanga is underrated. Only a few people would probably like to go to the Southern Philippines for travel due to terrorism threats. Little did they know that there are other travel-friendly places in Mindanao to explore such as Zamboanga.
- In my 27 years of existence (Hahaha! I really need to divulge my age here!), you would never believe that I’ve NEVER been to any Philippine Festivals yet. Given the chance of winning this contest, I may not only help our tourism industry by promoting Philippines, Mindanao and Zamboanga among my friends (naks namaaaaan pang Ms. Philippines lang…Hahaha! I’m going to be DOT’s ambassadress for free na niyan ha! *hehehe*), you can also help me fulfill one of my life’s wishes (Bucket List # __: To be able to watch any of the Philippine Festivals) dream come true.
- Working my ass off in this foreign land, I missed my vagabonding lifestyle in the Philippines. And it’s been ages since I last went home. I want to go back for a quick vacation, just to feel again the beauty of our country and attending a PH festivity seems like a good excuse to be away from work. 😉
