Travel: Rapaki Track

last week, husband and i went hiking at rapaki track which is just a walking distance from our house. people often go there especially on weekends if the weather is good. i’m very frustrated that i gained so much weight since last month and i realized that i need to exercise before things get out of control. to my dismal, most of my clothes do not fit me anymore and i don’t want to buy new clothes. 😦

so after finishing tons of household chores and game of thrones…here we go!!!

we arrived around half past ten. weather is good, not too sunny nor cloudy. rapaki track is 4 km long and elevated at 400 meters high. it looks easy at first but once i started walking, oh boy i’m out of breath. there were also other people with us, some with their families or dogs for a stroll, group of friends jogging up the hill and mostly mountain bikers braving the steep track.

it’s very tiring actually, especially for me who doesn’t exercise regularly. but as the saying goes, “one must enjoy the journey not the destination”. despite wanting to give up many times, we still continue to walk until we finish the end spot. looking at the grazing sheep and cows along the sides, makes the hike more bearable.

finally, we reach the end of the track! we could see the entire city from the top.

looking at the opposite direction, we could see the bay and next town.

we finished the 8 km round trip for 2 hours and 30 minutes. 2 hours which feels like forever but at least, it burned some of the calories. hehe! 🙂
