Camping on Waitangi Day

long weekend on a summer season, is one of the days i and most kiwis look forward to. everyone is excited to go on a holiday trip and do outdoor stuff like having a backyard bbq party, walking at the park or chilling at the beach.

for us, it only means one thing. it’s CAMPING time! it’s been a year since we started camping and now, we consider it as our regular outdoor activity. camping gives us the much-needed break from our busy lives. it is therapeutic and relaxing. all we do is enjoy each others company by having real conversation with friends (due to absence of wifi which is the BEST.THING.EVER), sleeping inside the tent or under a tree, playing pinoy henyo and basically eating non stop. camping in new zealand is very safe as there are no wild animals lurking around such as snakes and crocodiles. the only thing that annoys us are the sand flies, so insect repellent is a must.

here are some of the photos from our last camping adventure. obviously, the boys love the outdoor so much and they were having a great time wading in the river. the water is crystal clear clean and you could see the bottom of it. this moment of experiencing the beauty of the nature with family and friends…are what i’m grateful for. 🙂
